In accordance with Government Ordinance no. 43/1997 regarding the road regime:
(23) A vehicle operating with weights and/or dimensions exceeding the maximum allowed must be preceded by an authorized escort vehicle, if at least one of the following conditions is met:
a) width greater than 3.2 meters and less than or equal to 4.5 meters;
b) length greater than 25.0 meters and less than or equal to 30.0 meters;
c) height greater than 4.5 meters;
d) total weight greater than 80.0 tons.
(24) For the situations mentioned in paragraph (23), letters a) and b), the vehicle providing the escort on highways will travel behind.
(25) A vehicle operating with an exceeding total weight and/or dimensions must be accompanied by two authorized escort vehicles, one in front and the other behind, if at least one of the following conditions is met:
a) width greater than 4.5 meters;
b) length greater than 30.0 meters;
c) height greater than 4.5 meters or total weight greater than 80.0 tons, if the vehicle is traveling on highways.
(25) A vehicle operating with an exceeding total weight and/or dimensions must be accompanied by two authorized escort vehicles, one in front and the other behind, if at least one of the following conditions is met:
a) width greater than 4.5 meters;
b) length greater than 30.0 meters;
c) height greater than 4.5 meters or total weight greater than 80.0 tons, if the vehicle is traveling on highways.
(27) In the case where two or more vehicles with exceeding weights and/or dimensions are traveling in convoy, the length of the convoy will not exceed 75 meters.
(28) The length of the convoy mentioned in paragraph (27) is calculated by adding the lengths of the vehicles and a distance of 10 meters between each vehicle.
(29) The convoy mentioned in paragraph (27) must be accompanied by two authorized escort vehicles, one in front and the other behind, as well as a traffic police crew.
